WITHIN THE HOTEL
Sunbathe and swim in our gorgeous infinity pool, have a few cocktails in the private beach area and gardens and watch the amazing sunset. Sip a beer while playing on the billiards table and spend some quality time with loved ones in a relaxed setting. Those longing to work off some extra pounds gained on holiday can do so at our fully equipped fitness centre. We also have table tennis for those interested. Enjoy our movie and book collection too. SURFING
Ahangama is known as one of the best low-key surfing spots in Sri Lanka, making it a wonderful destination for surf enthusiasts. It has some of the best and most consistent surf spots, with great surf breaks making for thrilling fun for both beginners and experienced surfers alike.
There are several great waves to be found at beaches and coves close to the hotel.
OTHER WATER SPORTS
With a perfect location directly on the shores of the Indian Ocean, guests staying at Garton’s Cape are ideally positioned to enjoy a wide range of water sports and swimming in the ocean. We offer a variety of water activities to suit experienced adventure seekers and first timers alike with a passenger boat with facilities for jet skiing, fishing, snorkelling and other rides. We also have kayaks for hire and offer a variety of beach sports. Boats are available to explore the nearby islands too.
SCUBA DIVING
Ahangama has several diving points which are in close proximity to the hotel. Diving is a real treat here – you will be able to explore the beauty of the underwater sea life and swim among several colourful tropical fish and corals. There are non deep areas which are ideal for beginners.
STILT FISHERMEN AHANGAMA
A visit here is not complete without witnessing one of the most iconic figures in Sri Lanka – stilt fishermen in Ahangama beach. They spend hours perched on a cross bar of a single pole planted into the sea-bed, casting their lines out to sea to catch small fish.
